         FOUR DECADES.
CARD W — The widescreen heir. THE LAST OF THE LINE.

Each card is known by a single letter, and the procession has always been counted — count each card's place in it.

AUTHORIZATION: honor the succession ON YOUR SET. Visit each seat in order of accession — surf to it or dial it, the set is listening either way. Linger on each seat until the carrier is held; a channel you merely pass through does not register. The last seat is empty. It always was.
